- You are on the official team of Fashion Designers of Miss Europe Continental Edition12. How does it feel to be part of such a dynamic and established international team?
It feels amazing to be a part of the official team of the Fashion Designers of Miss Europe Continental Edition 12. I never would have thought I would be asked to be a designer but I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to showcase my skills on this platform.
- Tell us about your Creativity and Passion:
- What do you draw the most inspiration for your creations from?
I draw most of my inspiration for my creations from my surroundings, which can be anything. Going to work I can notice something or see something someone is wearing and it may inspire me to make a creation.
- How would you describe the woman you draw for?
The women I make creations for are the everyday working girl who likes to have options but still feel sexy. The women I design for have curves and love to show them off so I try to make garments that will flaunt their figure.
- Tell us about your future plans.
My future plans are to continue teaching as a college professor at Fashion Institute of NYC helping students really gain skills they can use to better themselves as designers. I also plan on designing for more fashion shows around the world. I want to have more exposure for my brand all over the United States and outside the country as well. I want to expand my brand from designing garments to introducing accessories as well as all custom made.
- What advice would you give to an aspiring fashion designer who dreams of pursuing this career?
My advice to anyone aspiring to pursue a career as a fashion designer would be to accept hardship and challenges before you see success. This industry is not for the weak and you have to have tough skin and work hard. Also staying open minded and teachable in this business is good because fashion is always changing and as a designer you want to be able to adapt to the changes.
- What do you expect from this experience at Miss Europe Continental?
From this experience at the Miss Europe Continental I expect to have more brand exposure for myself in a different country as well as meeting and connecting with more industry professionals. I also expect this opportunity to present more opportunities within the organization and within the industry to come up for me to continue to showcase my brand and to get my name out for more partnerships.
