Hello everyone, my name is Immaculate Wachera. I’m 22, representing Kenya, and I live in Austria.
– Kenya is your country, and it certainly has a special place in your heart. How do you feel when you return to your hometown?
Kenya has my heart and will always have my heart. When I’m home, I don’t have to think too much; the anxiety stops. My mind is quiet and relaxed. The joy of the people and the lively atmosphere that makes life enjoyable is where my heart wants to be. Like every country, Kenya does have its downsides.
– We know that on Youtube you have a channel where you often talk about your typical day. What is the goal of this channel?
My goal for my YouTube channel is to look back and see how much I have grown as a person. It’s hard to see your growth when it’s not documented, and I want to inspire Kenyan girls to appreciate the little things in life
– How do you take care of your image, and how do you take care of yourself?
The aspect of my image is very important to me because I hate being perceived, especially when I’m perceived the wrong way. I make sure I look beautiful every day, even when I don’t feel like it. I speak calmly, respect others, and always make sure to smile. I take care of myself by speaking kindly to myself, not judging myself harshly, and being gentle with myself when I make mistakes. I also listen to my body, even when I have cravings! Haha.
– What is beauty for you?
Beauty is energy. I believe in energies, and I can often sense someone’s energy before I truly get to know them.
– How important do you think it is to have self-confidence?
Self-confidence is the key to everything; even if you’re faking it, few can tell. A lot can be achieved by believing in yourself. When you have self-confidence, it means you trust yourself, and there is no better feeling than that trust. This can also reflect the quality of your relationship with yourself.
– Why did you decide to participate in Miss Europe Continental? and what do you hope to gain from participating?
The reason I joined Miss Europe Continental is that I have always wanted to model; however, I have hesitated to put myself out there because I believe in the importance of timing. When Federica reached out to me, I knew this was what I had been waiting for.What I hope to experience at this event is to determine whether this dream I’ve had since childhood is worth pursuing or if I should explore a different career path.
– Are you an extrovert? Do you like the idea that with Miss Europe Continental you will have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world?
I’m a shy extrovert; I tend to speak up when others engage with me. I love meeting different people. I come from a multicultural background, and it excites me when people share knowledge about where they’re from and how different their experiences are.
– Do you have a dream in your drawer?
My dream is to empower every little girl and woman in Kenya. The system can be really tough, especially for poor women, and I want to make a real difference in their lives.
